In late 2011 we employed Derek Scott Builders Limited, in conjunction with our insurer FMG Insurance, to undertake significant earthquake remediation and upgrading works at our home. The works were undertaken by Derek Scott’s team between January 2012 and August 2012. The home is a two storey character home first constructed in around 1914.
In our opinion the works carried out by Derek Scott Builders were of a very high quality and the team on site, including sub-contractors, were personable, efficient and a pleasure to work with. We were very pleased with the job undertaken for us by Derek Scott Builders and would have no hesitation in recommending them for similar works.

“Knowing very little about the building industry we knew we needed a special builder to build our ‘dream home’. There were 2 key factors in choosing Derek Scott to build our house, the first was his ability to communicate and the 2nd was his attention to detail which ironically we judged purely by the way he looked after his ute.
Throughout the build process we made some changes that we wanted to make and some Derek recommended, so his input was really appreciated. It was never a problem to re-design, add or take away something that was on the plans. A collaborative approach by Derek, his team and us made it a pleasant journey with no stress. We had regular meetings, mostly over a coffee and a walk around the house to see the progress, again for us communication was the key.
